We are John and Renata, known in other eras and circles as Wango and RaRa, JD and Ra, Oma and Papa, and yet to be discovered name tags, LOL. We're excited to begin our journeys and share them with you, our family and friends. Let's hit the road!
We travel in a 2016 Rockwood 2604ws towed with a 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty truck with a weight distribution hitch. This rig tows like a champ, but gas milage is awful. We'll get anywhere from 7-11 mpg. So we have to pace ourselves and be aware of our fuel costs while on the road.
The travel trailer has a separate bedroom with a queen bed, and a living area with a kitchen, dinette, couch, and chair. The bedroom and living area are separated by a full bath with a shower.
I added both a cell antenna and a WiFi antenna to the trailer with boosters for both. I'm hoping to be connected whenever possible while on the road.
Our first few trips were to local state parks. I wanted to get use to towing locally before embarking on any longer journeys. This summer, 2-18, we visited Lake Champlain, Quebec City, New Brunswick, Cape Breton, the Cabot Trail, Meat Cove, Nova Scotia, and Maine. This was a 4 week journey.
We travel with 3 cats. They were well behaved and enjoyed the journey as much as we did.
We narrowing down our next trip. Contenders so far are the Finger Lakes region in NY, Michigan and the Upper Pennisula, and Pennsylvania wilderness areas.
